It started with a size problem.

Our founder, Wunmi, wears a size 42 — and for years, finding shoes she actually loved in her size felt impossible. The options were limited, and frankly, uninspiring. So she did what any resourceful Lagosian would do: she figured it out herself.

From UNILAG to Your Wardrobe

Studying at the University of Lagos — right at the heart of Nigeria's commercial capital — taught Wunmi one of the most valuable lessons of her life: you don't have to spend a fortune to look incredible. UNILAG sharpened her eye for style and her instinct for value, and those two things became the foundation of everything Shoepify stands for.

The Moment That Started It All

After graduating and starting her career, Wunmi walked into work one day wearing a stunning pair of pumps she'd found at a fraction of what they were worth. Her colleagues stopped her in the hallway with compliments all around. Later that day, during a lunch break, a colleague spotted the exact same shoes on Instagram for four times the price.

That was the moment. Why should great fashion cost so much?

That weekend, Wunmi photographed her own personal items; two pairs of shoes and two bags she had just bought and posted them on Instagram. The inquiries started rolling in almost immediately. No sales yet, but the interest was real, and that was enough.

Shoepify was born.
